Nadine Spier lives in a rural area outside of San Diego called Olivenhain. The trees on her property provide the fallen pine needles for her coiled artwork and for the students in her basketry classes. Nadine's passions are protecting nature/animals, and of course basketry.
She teaches basketweaving with an enthusiasm that is transmitted to her students. Her classes are frequently filled to capacity with a waiting list. Nadine's reputation as an inspiring and compassionate teacher has grown throughout the years as she travels to teach at regional weaving conferences, guilds and national art schools. She has also produced 3 basketry instructional DVD's that have all received rave reviews and are sold internationally.
