LAVENDER SACHETS

TBA

You'll learn how to warp a tiny hand-held loom and weave a small piece of fabric, remove it from the loom, and fill with freshly dried organic lavender and stitch it closed. A variety of embellishments will be provided for decoration. You'll also learn how to dry your own garden-grown lavender and how to strip the buds to make your own potpourri.

These little fragrant sachets are great to inhale during stressful moments, or for your linen drawers, or gifts for friends and loved ones. Great travelling project - the loom can easily fit in your purse. The fabric can also be used for lavender lapel pins, pin cushions, and Ipod necklace holders.

Class includes Weavette Loom for students to keep, instruction book, 2 needles, dried organic lavender, yarns, and embellishments.

Fresh Lavender Baskets

Come be surrounded by the intoxicating aroma of lavender as you learn how to weave fresh cuttings into beautiful, fragrant baskets. This is an easy project.... great for beginners. Students can wander freely among the fields of lavender as they harvest materials to make their basket. We'll be using the soft foliage, stems and blossoms to create this beautiful, organic, aromatic basket. The finished vessel is rich with texture, color and fragrance. The technique you learn in class can later be used to weave other fresh plants such as Dusty Miller, Rosemary, Peppermint, and much more.

As you work on your basket, you'll be inhaling the calming, soothing smell of fresh lavender while overlooking the beautiful farm and valley. What a great way to spend the day!

May 29 • 10-4    $60

           Fabric Baskets

Great timing to make beautiful fabric baskets to decorate for Spring! Fabric baskets are easy to make and are a clever way to use up scraps of fabric, old clothes or yarn. Delight your children by turning their outgrown clothing into keepsake baskets! Fabric baskets can be made to accent your home, to decorate for various seasonal holidays or to give as gifts. They can also be a very healing project for anyone who has lost a loved one - by making a "memory basket" out of their clothing.

Students will snip and tear the fabric into strips and then wrap around a core to create their handmade vessel.

Please bring scissors and a sack lunch. Class fee $55 includes everything you need to make your basket. Students go home with a completed project. After class you might want to visit the farm store to find luscious lavender products to put in your basket!
